Faka's Island Grill

In 2014, David Pese entered a Shark Tank-style business plan competition at his college. He took first place and used the $5,000 seed money to buy the bare essentials for his business. The company started out catering and booking jobs from Craigslist, Facebook and then signing up to be vendors at local community events. The beginning was rough and a lot of lessons were learned, but the company kept pushing and the word spread about the food. From night markets to concerts to festivals, the movement has continued to grow.

The first location of Faka’s was in Covina, starting as a pop-up restaurant. They are now located in 4th Street Market, in Downtown Santa Ana, The Enclave in Torrance, and soon opening in SteelCraft Long Beach serving delicious Island food for lunch & dinner.
