SteelCraft Garden Grove’s Summer Culture Series has begun!
SteelCraft Garden Grove’s Summer Culture Series is underway! THANK YOU to all who were able to come to the first event of our three-part series celebrating a variety of cultures that represent the rich diversity of Southern California! The Asian American and Pacific Islander event on Saturday, July 24th included some amazing AAPI-owned makers and entertainers.
Live Community Performances:
Nonprofit Vietnamese group, Thiên Ân Performing Arts (above), started us off with a bang as they performed the traditional Lion Dance.
Professional Polynesian dancers, Island Inspirations (above), showed off their iconic hula skills.
Active member in the Cambodian community, DJ Malyanne (left), queued some lively tunes for the crowd. Charade Dance Acadamy (right), small but mighty pre-ballerinas, graced us with their award-winning performance.
The remaining acts included:
- Michael Barnum | Talented singer-songwriter
- Atsuki | LA-based Electric violinist
Maker’s Market:
Known for selling home decor pieces, Fig + Stone was amongst the many local vendors.
With Luv Bangtan, Korean brand inspired by BTS, sold custom sweats and sweatshirts.
Other featured AAPI makers included:
- Haiyen Handmade | Collection of handmade headbands
- Less Is More | Unique vintage clothing
- Sach Goods | Eco-friendly candles inspired by Vietnamese heritage
- Wild Fleur Co. | Trendy dried floral arrangements
- Sweet Mama Co. | Delicious spicy chamoy candy
