Champion's Curry

Many Americans are unaware that curry has a diverse international history with many permutations. In the 19th Century, the British developed their own roux-based curry catering to the Western palate. This style was later adopted and perfected in Japan by culinary entrepreneurs such as Champion’s Curry founder, Chef Yoshikazu Tanaka, to produce the dish known today as Japanese-style curry. Champion’s Japanese curry is particularly thick and rich, both in flavor and in consistency, making it the perfect pairing with crispy katsu.
