#ShopSmall at SteelCraft this December

#SmallBusinessSaturday2017 may have come and gone but at SteelCraft every day is a great day to support local businesses. We are a small business and most of our tenants are small family-run shops. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them. Small business is at the heart of what we do so hosting pop-up shops is a small way of celebrating entrepreneurs. In December, come by SteelCraft to support some incredible local woman-owned small businesses.

Upcoming Events:

UNCVRD Pop-Up Shop: Dec. 2nd, 12-4pm

UNCVRD is one of our favorite vendors from our Second Saturdays events. Long Beach local, Jen Bedrossian, founded UNCVRD to make a direct impact on the effort to end human trafficking. Not only is the jewelry stunning, 40% of all proceeds from each sale goes directly to Gems Uncovered to help fund street outreach, programming for their survivors, preventative measures and more.

Lovesome Chocolates Farewell Weekend: Dec. 2nd-3rd, 12-4pm

Lovesome’s 1-year lease is up. Come by Dec. 2nd or 3rd, 12-4pm to snag some sweet treats and thank Nicole for satisfying our sugar cravings in 2017. Read her heartfelt message below. From everyone at SteelCraft, thank you! We will miss you.

It is with bittersweetness that I let my lovesome lovers know that my pop-up @steelcraftlb will be closing its doors soon. My lease is coming to an end, and I’ll be taking the opportunity to refocus my efforts/investment on getting back to doing what I love- making my seasonal dark chocolate confections, something I’ve honestly missed in the last 5 months. Being at SteelCraft afforded me a wonderful opportunity to anchor myself to an exciting project and introduce my cure to the savage sweet tooth to this beautiful city. I’d like to think I’ve earned a few new friends, loyal fans and followers over the last 10 months. But it’s had its challenges. Working in a 100% outdoor space has not always been conductive to sharing/selling my creations. There were many days where both my candy and I had a meltdown. ?Nevertheless, I have to say I’m very proud of myself for making adjustments- including adding fudge, butter brittle, brownies, as well as hand-dipped caramel apples to my product line to keep customers engaged and my doors popped open. This forced me to stretch outside of my knowledge base and get out of my comfort zone, and yet it resulted in some of my best selling recipes, a few of which I plan to continue to offer. And so although it’s been challenging, I have ZERO regrets and appreciate every summer heatwaving, Santa Ana wind-blowing lesson I learned on the corner of Long Beach Blvd and Bixby Road…. and so, with that being said, this isn’t goodbye- YET. I have a few weeks left where I’ll be open (see below). Weekends where I’m absent only means I’m on tour- you will find me and my sass at a local special event with @sunsetbeachwinery, @lbmaorg or @artexchangelb, or in collaboration with @smogcitybeer_steelcraft. I will be taking my chocolate on the road over the holidays, and will continue to pop-up as a guest at SteelCraft in the future. I also plan to expand my products in local shops and boutiques. Please stay tuned on this channel if you want to know where to find me: a trunk show, private tasting party, artisanal fair. In the meantime, pop-in and say hello on one of the final weekends that I’m open: Oct 28-29; Nov 4, 11-12; Dec 9-10. ?
